From the sources above, I can tell that the life before 1819 in general in Singapore was excellent, and bustling. Singapore was also famous. From the gold ornaments, I can tell that people from Java came to Singapore to trade with Singaporeans as these ornaments came from Java, which meant that the economic aspect of life in Singapore was excellent. From the Bronze Dong Son Drum, I can tell that people from Vietnam had communicated with Singaporeans and get to know each other's lifestyle. I can tell that Temasek also had political connections with other countries like The Javanese Kingdom and Palembang. Temasek was a vassal state of  The Javanese Kingdom, also known as Majapahit. Temasek's ruler, Paduka Sr Pikrama Wira showed indifference to Majapahit's wish, thus Majapahit attacked Temasek. They then claimed superiority over Temasek. As for connections with Palembang, the fifth ruler of Temasek, Paramswara who was from Palembang, killed the previous ruler of Temasek in order to take over his throne. I can infer that Temasek was a successful and famous entrepot that attracted many traders from other countries to visit there. Since it was so successful, many wanted to take over it. Thus, Temasek had many attacks around its port, which disrupted many lifes in Temasek. Overall, I think that Singapore has an excellent connection with other countries and it was bustling as many people from other countries came to Singapore to trade and communicate. I think that Singapore was also famous as it was an entrepot.
